Discover Poland – the first edition: October 21st-22nd, 2009

Active promotion of active tourism

On 21-22 October 2009, during the Tour Salon, which is the largest tourist show in Poland, the Poznan International Fair will promote Polish active tourism. Polish entrepreneurs will have a unique opportunity to present their products and services to tour operators from all over the world during specially arranged meetings, and to show the unknown face of Polish tourism. And this is all as a part of an innovative project named "Discover Poland".

Invariably, one of the most important marketing tools and a chance to establish new contacts is to present your products during a big trade show exhibition. Specialists for business meetings from the Poznan International Fair have increased a traditional formula of fairs by matchmaking to provide exhibitors and visitors with a chance to meet directly, in a narrow circle, with visitors interested in their products or services. Either sellers or purchasers of services or goods do not have to waste time looking laboriously for new partners for talks or arranging meetings. This is what organizers of the fair do. It is enough to express willingness to participate in the project and to appear in the agreed place at the agreed time, in order to initiate a new business contact.

Business matchmaking will also take place during the upcoming Fair of Regions and Tourist Products Tour Salon, which will be accompanied by the arrival tourism workshop called Discover Poland. Its organizers set themselves a target to select partners for business talks so that this could result in later cooperation and lucrative contracts.

Canoeing rallies instead of a tour of Wawel

The Discover Poland workshop is designed for qualified tourism. Its organizers hope that they will be able to present the Polish tourism potential to foreign tourists from the side they have not known yet. - "Most foreign tourists who come to Poland know only Cracow or Warsaw, whereas Poland has in fact much more to offer!," says Ewa Bartkowiak, the director of Discover Poland. "In the Bieszczady Mountains you can go horseback riding around mountain pastures not meeting anyone for hours; during the canoeing rally we can see no trace of civilisation for a few days, though we are in the centre of Europe. These forms of active leisure are difficult to carry out anywhere else," she emphasizes. Discover Poland is supposed to be an occasion for direct promotion of Poland as a place of unique opportunities of spending free time for foreign leisure organisers. This year, during the Discover Poland workshop, tourist products offered by Polish sellers will be seen by tour operators from Germany, Belarus, Italy, Holland, Ukraine, Great Britain, Georgia, Australia and other countries.
